Big things

Since... Whenever i posted last, i can't even remember when it was, i've gotten busy and out of the habit of occasionally posting on this blog. I guess i don't post a whole lot about my real-life life here (especially not big things), but here's a bunch of things that have been going on.

• Back in May, my mom left for a while. As in leaving my family... She came back after a few weeks, but that was a weird, upsetting, stressful period of time. Any more detail would be too a long a story and too much information about other people to post publicly on the internet besides. But anyway, that was a big deal.
• In June, i spent a week at camp in the mountains in Tennessee with my youth group, which was amazingly awesome. And... again, more detail would be too much for me to post tonight. It's three hours later in my time zone than the times Blogger puts on my posts (I don't know how to change that), and i have to go to bed before breakfast time tomorrow.
• Later in June, i spent a week in my hometown that i moved from in eigth grade, which was also awesome. I got to do fun things with my grandma and cousins and great aunts, et cetera, and i also saw a couple of old friends. I only spent a little time with them, but it wasn't disappointing at all. :)
• Just last week, i went with my youth group on a mission trip to Jacksonville Beach and did a VBS for the kids at an apartment complex. Another long story that i probably won't get around to telling... but oh, well. There will be others.
• And... Since the stuff with my mom, my family's not homeschooling anymore. My younger siblings are all going to public school this coming year, and i most likely am too. I was going to still be officially homeschooled and dual enroll, but i didn't pass the algebra portion of the CPT in time to do it in the fall semester. I may still start dual-enrollment in the spring, but anyway, i plan to go to North Marion next month... and i need to get around to actually enrolling, ha.

So, life's been busy and won't be getting less so anytime soon, but i do plan to start posting more again. So take heart, imaginary blogreaders! I've returned.

Super-rad fungus

Today, my sister showed me something in our backyard that looked like this and smelled like crap, seriously.
















We found out that it's a column stinkhorn. And also, the scientific name for the stinkhorn family is Phallaceae. Which is funny.


So, we were inspired to go across the street and search for more weird-looking fungus... We didn't find any as awesome as the stinkhorn, but still, it was cool. :P

Sneaking.

So, my parents are off somewhere doing something. My siblings and i took the opportunity to watch Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, which was cool... but never as cool as the book, of course. Now we're watching Elf. And when my parents get back, my best friend is going to call me. Life is pretty much average awesome. B)

My children are going to be born with extra limbs

And hopefully not because my husband and i turn out to be more closely related than we thought.

One of my sisters got some potato chips earlier today and wanted to heat them up in the microwave. So she put them on a napkin and tried... and apparently, it made a weird noise and sparks. O.o So i ate them for her... My stomach hurt a little later. Yup.

Cookies kill... a lot of time

So, this morning my dad was being an asshole about the heater being on and it not being necessary. I decided since he liked the cold so much, i'd throw some ice cubes on his side of my parents' bed. ...That was around thirteen hours ago. I pretty much forgot about it right after, but now my mom's trying to find out who spilled something... only Melissa knows what really happened, though, so i'm probably not going to get killed tonight.

Anyway.

There's this thing my 4-H club participates in every year where you make a bunch of cookies and bring them to the 4-H office... and i'm not totally sure what else... but my family's all doing it, and we're supposed to each make 3 dozen cookies. That means 180 cookies, plus extras, made with five different recipes. We started working around 8. It's now midnight, one of my sister's still isn't finished, and i haven't started on mine... I was busy helping everyone else with theirs, because i'm nice and a control freak. It was lame and fattening... I did get (steal) some brilliant ideas, though.

Rachael, my 12-year-old sister, made some gay sugar cookies and just put chocolate icing on them... And then she piled up the icing on top of a couple like dog crap and decided to name them Doggy Delights. Redeemed.

Someone suggested putting cocoa puffs on them and renaming them Rabbit Show Surprises... but we don't have any. I fully intend to get some and make some, or a cake the same way, for the home arts part of the fair this year. It will be awesome.
